Thala Pothichil

Thalapothichil or Shirolepam (meaning head pack) is from Malayalam where thala refers to head and pothichil is covering. The treatment involves the preparation of a herbal paste from amlaki, neem, bhringraj, tulsi, brahmi etc., using buttermilk. The medicated paste is then applied on the head and wrapped with a plantain leaf.
